Canberra Malalyalee Sports Day 2008 - Tidbinbilla House vs Ginninderra House

Thanks to all again for making the Canberra Malayalee Sports Day 2008 a memorable day with a good turnout from members of the community. 

 

The Canberra Malayalee Sports Day 2008 featured two teams Tidbinbilla House and Ginninderra participating in a social competition. The event provided participants the opportunity to meet other new members of the community, build social networks among community members and participate in sports activities in a relaxed and fun environment! There were thrilling competitions that went down to the wire and great support was provided from friends and family that came to spectate.

 

Congratulations to the Sports Day Cup 2008 Winners Tidbinbilla House on their win.

 

Following the success of the Community Sports Day, Sports day 2009 promises to be bigger and better event.

Canberra Malayalee Sports Day 2008 has been planned on 2nd Feb 2008, to promote sports activity, fun and social bonding within the community. Apart from track & field events, team events and activities have also been included. We cordially invite you and your family to participate in these competitions specially organized for the community. We anticipate and request participation from all to make this a grand success.
Thanks all for the overwhelming response towards the sports day. We hope you have a fun filled day and with your active participation the house you represent emerge the winners.

Below are the details of the sports day:

Date/Time
2nd February 2 pm. Your punctuality will help us start and finish on time.

Venue
Phillip Athletics oval. (corner of Ainsworth st and Kitchener St)

The Day
There are two houses as mentioned earlier. Tidbinbilla House and Ginnidera House. You have been allocated a house. Please contact your area-coordinator (the organiser team member who called you) or send an email to us and we will let you know which house you belong to.
You may opt to change houses and it is your discretion that matters.

Dress Code
Tidbinbilla House - White ( Preferably) / or any light color jersey /T Shirt
Ginninderra House - Dark Blue / Black (Preferably) / or any dark colored jersey /T Shirt

Registration
You will need to register at the Registration Desk setup at the ground entrance.($1 registration fee per adult, please bring change)  after arriving.
You will have to indicate the events you are participating from the below event list. Pls. remember the more events you are in the better chance for your house.
Your participation will help your house be the champions of the day.
Event coordinators nominated for each event will conduct the event. You will find the event coordinators allocated on the day for each event and frequent announcements will be made to keep you upto-date.

Gold - 5 Silver - 3 Bronze -2 Relay - 8 points . Throw ball / Tug of war 12 points  goes to the house represented by the winners.

Snacks :
    * Onion Pakora - (8 psc per serve) - $ 4.00 per serve
    * Masala Vadai (8psc per serve) - $ 4.00 per serve
    * Chicken Kebab - $2.00 per stick

Main Course:
    * Chicken Biryani with cucumber raita- $7.00 per serve
    * Lamb Pepper Fry with Idly or Sanna's $7.00 per serve
    * Pav Bhaji - $6.00 per serve

Drinks:
    * Cola / Lemon or Orange - $1.50 each
    * Chilled Bottled Water - $1.50 Each
    * Tea or Coffee - $1.00
    * Beer
